What if I told you that the more boring your daily life seems, the more money you have the potential to make in your business?
I know that sounds counterintuitive, but hear me out.
I’ve had so many clients tell me they struggle to show up on Instagram because they feel like their life isn’t interesting enough.
✨ “I don’t have anything unique to share.”
✨ “My day-to-day is just client work and sitting at my laptop.”
✨ “I only post when I’m traveling or doing something exciting.”
But here’s the problem with that mindset:
When you only show up occasionally—when something big is happening—you’re ghosting your audience the rest of the time. And that inconsistency is costing you clients and sales.
Today, I want to shift your perspective on what it really takes to sell with ease—without forcing yourself to be more interesting or constantly hustling to “stand out.”
The Client Who Made Her Biggest Sale While Laying on the Couch in Her Pajamas
I want to share a story about a client of mine who booked her biggest sale ever… while sitting on her couch in pajamas.
No fancy strategy. No perfectly planned launch. No viral content.
Here’s what happened:
The day before, she had a potential client reach out with some questions about her services. They chatted in the DMs, but at the end of the day, the lead went silent.
No response. No clear decision. Just crickets.
Sound familiar?
She felt like she had already given all the information needed. She wondered:
- Did I scare them off?
- Should I follow up?
- How do I remind them without sounding pushy?
She messaged me for advice, and we talked through her options. At first, she thought about sending a follow-up email with testimonials and client success stories—or maybe adding a “I only have two spots left!” urgency play.
But neither of those approaches felt good to her.
So we tried something different.
The Easiest Sales Strategy: Showing Up & Sharing Value
Instead of sending a traditional follow-up, I encouraged her to do something so simple:
✅ Show up on Instagram stories and share about the work she was already doing that day.
✅ Give real examples of how her current clients were benefiting from working with her.
✅ Help her potential lead see the transformation she provides—without any hard selling.
So that morning, while still in her pajamas, she took a quick photo of her laptop and shared some context to the work she was doing in her business for her clients:
💬 “Working on [specific client project] today! This has helped my client [achieve a specific result] without feeling overwhelmed.”
💬 “Another client just finished [X part of the process]—and now they can [big win/result]. Love seeing this transformation!”
💬 “So grateful to work with such amazing clients and help them [reach goal].”
That was it.
No mention of “only two spots left.” No pressure-filled CTA. Just authentically showing up, providing value, and reinforcing her expertise.
And guess what?
That same lead—who had ghosted her the day before—watched her stories and DM’d her that evening asking to book.
🚀 Contract signed.
🚀 Invoice paid.
🚀 Easiest sale ever.
Why This Works (And Why Most People Overcomplicate Sales)
Here’s why this strategy is so powerful:
1️⃣ It removes pressure. Instead of trying to “convince” someone to book, you’re simply showing up and reinforcing the value you provide.
2️⃣ It builds confidence. When potential clients see that you’re actively working with others and delivering results, they feel more secure investing in you.
3️⃣ It keeps you top of mind. Your lead might have been thinking about hiring you, but seeing your stories gave them that final nudge.
Most people think selling means making big announcements, hyping up offers, or using scarcity tactics.
But the easiest way to sell is just to consistently show up and share what you’re already doing.
How to Sell Without “Selling” (Even If Your Life Feels Boring)
If you’ve ever felt like you don’t have anything interesting to post, try this instead:
1. Shift Your Perspective on What’s “Interesting”
Your audience doesn’t need you to be doing something exciting all the time.
What’s interesting to them? The work you do and the results you create.
✨ Working on a new project? Share a behind-the-scenes look.
✨ Helping a client with something? Show part of the process.
✨ Seeing a pattern in client struggles? Share an insight on how to solve it.
You don’t need to be exciting. You just need to show up and provide value.
2. Start Bringing People Along for the Journey
Most people only post when they have something to promote.
But your brand is built in the in-between moments—the daily connections, conversations, and insights you share.
Next time you sit down to work, ask yourself:
- “What’s something I’m working on that my audience would benefit from seeing?”
- “What’s a small win or transformation I can highlight today?”
- “What’s something I just helped a client with that others might need too?”
Turn those answers into Instagram stories, a quick post, or even a simple text overlay on a photo.
3. Sell Indirectly (By Simply Talking About Your Work)
Here’s how to sell without feeling like you’re selling:
🚫 Instead of: “I have 2 spots left—book now!”
✅ Try: “Just wrapped up a session helping a client [achieve a transformation]—excited to see how this impacts their business!”
🚫 Instead of: “Sign up for my program—it’s life-changing!”
✅ Try: “One of my clients just hit [goal] after applying what we worked on together. Love seeing these results!”
By focusing on results, impact, and transformation, you naturally attract more clients—without ever feeling pushy.
Final Takeaway: Consistency Wins Every Time
If you take away one thing from this post, let it be this:
✨ You don’t have to be “interesting” to attract clients—you just have to show up. ✨
Your dream clients aren’t waiting for a perfectly curated Instagram feed.
They’re waiting to see proof that you know what you’re doing—and that you can help them get results.
So instead of overcomplicating things, just show up, share your process, and keep adding value.
💡 And remember: Your brand should be working for you 24/7—let’s make sure it actually is.
